FOS awarded contract for the KJP FDP 1 project

15-01-2007 Siem Offshore Contractors has been awarded the contract for the engineering, transportation and installation of 31 5kV and 36kV medium voltage composite cables with a total length of 50.4 km being part of the Field Development Project Phase 1 by Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) as consortium member along with the Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Company (PETROJET) and Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (Enppi) as main contractor of Al-Khafji Joint Operations, a joint venture of Kuwait Gulf Oil Company and Aramco Gulf Operations Company.

The scope of work includes besides the submarine cable installations, the installation of up to 31 J-tubes as well as up to 250 cable and pipeline crossings and the installation of 62 cable hold-back arrangements.

The targeted completion date for the installation is scheduled for May 2008.
