Seaway Offshore Cables was awarded the contract for the engineering, transport, installation and commissioning (T&I) works related to the inner array grid and export cable system of the Changfang and Xidao Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) projects by both Changfang Wind Power Co. and Xidao Wind Power Co., a company of the CIP group.
The Changfang and Xidao OWF is located approx. 13-15km off the Taiwanese west coast at the Fangyuan Township, which is located within the county Changhua. The OWF consists of 62 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 9.5 MW and is based on an inner array grid of 58 and a landfall /export cable system of 7 medium voltage aluminium core submarine composite cables with a total length of up to 275 km.
The submarine composite cables are being manufactured and supplied by LS Cable and System and are subsequently to be installed by Seaway Offshore Cables utilising a.o. dedicated in-house resources.
