Seaway Offshore Cables, in cooperation with Subsea 7 US, was awarded the contract for the turnkey engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) works related to the inner array grid and export cable system of the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project by Ørsted Wind Power North America.
The Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind farm is located approx. 43 km off the coast of Virginia, on the east coast of the United States of America. The OWF consists of 2 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 6 MW and is based on an inner array grid and export cable system of 33 kV copper core submarine composite cables with a total length of up to 46 km.
The submarine cable system shall be installed by Seaway Offshore Cables utilising dedicated in-house resources such as the Cable Lay Vessel Seaway Aimery.
