Seaway Offshore Cables was awarded the contract for the engineering, transport and installation (T&I) works related to the inner array grid cable system of the Hornsea Project Two Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) project by Ørsted Wind Power.
The Hornsea Project Two OWF is located approx. 89 km off the Yorkshire coast within the UK sector of the North Sea. The OWF consists of 165 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 8.4 MW and is based on an inner array grid of 165 medium voltage copper core submarine composite cables with a total length of more than 420km.
The submarine composite cables are to be manufactured and supplied by both JDR Cable Systems and Prysmian PowerLink and are subsequently to be installed by Seaway Offshore Cables utilising dedicated in-house resources such as the Cable Lay Vessel Seaway Aimery and Installation Support Vessel Seaway Moxie.
