Lots 2 & 4 – 33kV Inner Array Grid Cable System

Seaway Offshore Cables was awarded the contract for the engineering, transport and installation (T&I) works related to the lots 2 and 4 of the inner array grid cable system of the Hornsea Project One Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) project by Ørsted Wind Power.

The Hornsea Project One OWF is located approx. 120 km off the Yorkshire coast within the UK sector of the North Sea. The OWF consists of 174 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 7.0 MW and is based on an inner array grid of 174 medium voltage copper core submarine composite cables with a total length of more than 300km.

The submarine composite cables were manufactured and supplied by JDR Cable Systems and were subsequently installed by Seaway Offshore Cables utilising dedicated in-house resources such as the Cable Lay Vessel Seaway Aimery and Installation Support Vessel Seaway Moxie.
