Seaway Offshore Cables was awarded the contract for the installation and associated services related to the inner array grid cable system of the Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) project by E.ON Climate and Renewables UK.
The OWF is located approximately 8km off the Holderness coast, north of the mouth of the River Humber in East Yorkshire within the UK sector of the North Sea. The OWF consists of 73 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 3.0 MW and is based on an inner array grid of 84 medium voltage copper core submarine composite cables with a total length of up to 84km.
The submarine composite cables were manufactured and supplied by Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke (NSW) on behalf of the client and were subsequently installed by Seaway Offshore Cables utilising dedicated in-house resource MV Siddis Mariner.

Even on short notification, SOC managed to modify and mobilize the already converted Cable Lay Vessel ‘Siddis Mariner’ for cable installation works in such shallow waters and installed the submarine cables in the shallowest part of the Humber Gateway OWF."
