Seaway Offshore Cables was awarded the contract for the turnkey engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) works related to the inner array grid cable system of the Nordsee One Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) project by Nordsee One.
The Nordsee One OWF is located approx. 40 km north of the island of Juist within the German Bight sector of the North Sea. The OWF consists of 54 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 6.15 MW and is based on an inner array grid of 59 medium voltage aluminium core submarine composite cables with a total length of up to 72km.
The submarine composite cables were manufactured and supplied by JDR Cable Systems and were subsequently installed by Seaway Offshore Cables utilising dedicated in-house resources such as the Cable Lay Vessel Seaway Aimery and Instalation Support Vessel Seaway Moxie.
