Seaway Offshore Cables was awarded the contract for the turnkey engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) works related to the inner array grid cable system of the Veja Mate Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) project by Veja Mate Offshore Project.
The Veja Mate OWF is located 115km off the German coast, within the German Bight sector of the North Sea. The OWF consists of 67 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 6.0 MW and is based on an inner array grid of 73 medium voltage copper core submarine composite cables with a total length of up to 97km.
The submarine composite cables were manufactured and supplied by JDR Cable Systems and were subsequently installed by Seaway Offshore Cables utilising dedicated in-house resources such as the Cable Lay Vessel Seaway Aimery and Installation Support Vessel Seaway Moxie.
