We are looking for a highly motivated person with a caring, committed and competitive attitude to fulfil the position of:

Geotechnical Engineer (m/f)

The Geotechnical Engineer supports especially the tender team with geotechnical engineering (review and/or design) and is consulting on various geotechnical, cable trenching and cable routing aspects of tenders and also projects.

Main areas of responsibilities:

  • Preparing routing and trenching assessments and analysis on client-provided data
  • Identifying missing data and assessing value of data for any (trenching and/or routing) studies
  • Preparing and reviewing geotechnical and geophysical surveys and interpretation of thereof
  • Preparing technical specifications for trenching contractors and geotechnical consultants and review of (subcontractor) engineering procedures and documents, based on client requirement
  • Follow-up of trenching subcontractors and geotechnical consultants
  • Geotechnical engineering analyses and classification of soils (inclusive of rock)
  • Route engineering based on seabed conditions, obstructions and bed forms
  • Reviewing and interpreting written regulations and permit requirements as well as applying them to tender and projects
  • Development and maintenance of tender and project experience (lessons learnt) and know-how

Preferred profile:

  • Technical background or higher professional degree and min. 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience with trenching (preferable jet and mechanical trenching)
  • Experience in ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • High level of computing skills
  • Social team player who is willing to take responsibility
